FAUX-FINISH
- A finish that is designed to imitate the real thing; For example, making steel look like antique brass.

FORGING
- Changing the cross-sectional shape of metal without adding or deleting material. It is most often accomplished by heating and hammering.

WROUGHT IRON
- A very pure, easily welded or forged iron containing about 2% carbon. This material is not readily available and most architectural metalwork is made today from steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass or bronze. The term 'wrought iron' is commonly used to describe the general look of metal fabrication as opposed to wood.
